Just done over the weekend.

Wifeys faded red (pink ) Stilo is now a red gleamer.

I used Red T-Cut and polish with an orbital polisher after a thorough washing.

Buffed it up manually, did the black trim with Back to Black, washed under the wheel-arches, did the wheels and trims, vacuumed the shed out, scrubbed the carpets, mats and seats.

Top job!

Autogylm products are pretty good I find!

i only use carnauba wax

you wana use products like the above, but wash it, clay bar the entire car then wash / polish it. will look like glass after that

if you really want a shiny car you will have to put some effort in...

what colour is it is it a solid colour or a clear coated metallic ?

the basic principles are wash, clay, polish, wax...



Claying is "easy" there are many different types but i can recommend Bilit Hamber Auto Clay

This doesn't need a "special" lubricant all you need is a plant sprayer filled with water and is a very fine none aggressive clay but works well...

used like this with water rather than the special clay lube in this kit..





then for a polish I'd use Autoglym super resin polish if you look round some small motor factors still have some 1 ltr bottles for the price of 500ml..

at this point you can go 1 of 2 ways a synthetic sealant Such as Auto glyms Extra Gloss protection or a wax... although if you time you can use EGP then a wax over that to give the car real protection

As for the wax this will be argued till the cows come home but for Durability Look at the Collinite range for a light coloured car there is Auto Wax No. 476s and for dark cars there is Collinite #915 Marque D'Elegance

as for keeping it shiney dry the car properly after washing and treat it to a misting of quick detailer every few washes and buff up to keep the shine..

Quick clean, use a wash and wax (turtle wax one is pretty good), then buy a bottle of demon shine and apply this after you've washed, it adds a little something to create a nice shine as the name suggests. If you really want to go all out buy some Autoglym Aqua Wax and slap that on, really quick and easy.

I spent an entire weekend cleaning a car once. I was selling it and I reckoned it probably doubled the value from about £600 to £1200 so worthwhile if you aren't Alan Sugar.
