General Severe smoking on tick over..MOT looming

No not a camper van, have made it into a day van but used daily!

Without seeing it myself if it is burning oil a list of things:
oil - is it the correct oil, is it diluted with diesel, emulsified etc
high crankcase pressure - pcv valve, cat collapsed, exhaust blockage
is there oil in the intake - leaking turbo
leaking valve stem seals
worn/cracked rings
worn bore

Ok Thanks, going to do an oil and filter change on Friday (payday) and flush also and go from there.

Ok, so dropped and flushed oil on Friday, put on new oil filter and refilled with the correct oil and new oil plug and washer! Drove 200 miles yesterday and for the first 100 miles not one puff of smoke, so I thought that was the end of it!! On the return journey everytime I stopped big plume of smoke when pulling away. Oil level is right on max on dipstick. Done 30 miles today and for the first 25 no smoke then again more smoke!! Drove like a dream yesterday and pulls like a train through all the gears without hesitation...really, really confused with this!!!
