My first low mileage annual check (fiat insists it is NOT a service as the car does not need an annual service) was £104 at the dealer, and from the invoice only £30 of that was actual labour charge... they even cleaned it inside and out. I don't think that's unreasonable at all is it?
Wait for the £300 - £400 quotes for a "proper" dealer Service!
I kid you not!

But if you do over 6k miles in the first year, it needs no attention until the end of the second year or 18k miles... and you can have it done at any VAT registered garage if you don't want to pay for the dealer to do it.

as others have said - thats not even really a service, you're paying that for an oil and filter change and a cursory checkover...so even that isnt value for money.
and yep, when you get to the 2nd year service wait for the sky high price for the same thing, plus spark plugs and brake fluid.
comedy pricing from your friendly fiat dealers.
I don't think that Fiat's servicing charges are any more unreasonable than other manufacturers. £200 for a major service is not unreasonable.
Agreed £435 IS unreasonable!
Whilst the pros and cons of having a Manufactuer Service History compared to Independent Service History is well known ... personally I will take my car to Fiat. The beauty of freedom of choice...
They made the car, they sell the car, and they are the best placed people to service the car. No actually... Fiat Dealerships do not make the car... they are a Franchise with techs working there from any other mdealership.
Not only that, but should their be any recall, or software updates, they normally apply those too. As they do even if the car isnt Dealer serviced, recalls are usually safety related so they have to.
On the occasion I took my last car to an independent, a number of times I was told they could not do a number of things, and to take it back to manufactuer (Vauxhall in that case) Choose your indy garage with greater care I say... sorry...
You may your money, and you take your pick. Interestingly enough, my Astra that I sold when I upgraded to my 500 - I was able to seller it for 30% more, because of its impeccible service history.
Aaaaaaaaaaamen! Praaaaaaaaaaaaaaaise the lord brother! As others have said before, people pay thousands of pounds for their car (mine was £10200-ish when I bought it), which is a technology rich and very complicated piece of kit, and then chuck their dummy out at paying the right people to make sure it keeps running as the manufacturer intended.
I recently had my warranty renewal notice on my washing machine, and for a year it was £120... and for this I get nothing unless the thing goes wrong. And then they come and tell you that you're using the wrong sort of powder or something when it does go wrong. And this is for a machine that would cost me about £300 to replace. So I don't think that a couple of hundred quid once a year (its not even that as I have been quoted £342 for the first two services and the 500 doesn't need a service until 18k miles or the second year) for someone to actually do stuff to my car which cost me over 10k to keep it running properly is that bad.
Can you say amen brothers? Praise the Lord.

Can I get an amen brothers?!?!?!?!
