Technical Service Intervals - 18.000 Miles or How Many Months.

I've spoken with 3 dealers now and they all say 18,000 miles or 1 year. Thaey also say that as the car will have about 12,000 miles by the time it's 12 months old that they will do a low mileage service, £120.

yep thats the same situation i was in with mine

Had ours done today, 9k miles @ 1 year so low mileage £116.38

well i had a low mileage (10,000) service at 12 months and they said not to come back til another 12 months but I'll have to have a full service then.

However my 'miles to service' on the car says 6,000 odd ...........I've done just over 11,000 miles .... does it sounds like it's not been reset after the 10,000 service? Should it be reset or doesn't it matter, after all the next service will be Sept 2010 no matter what it says on the service reminder.

Heidi, I'd probably give Fiat a call up and ask. The things which are meant to be done @ 18k miles should really be done at 18k miles and if you didn't get it done then you may find Fiat voids your warranty so best to check

No I know I definitely don't need another service until 24 months ownership - it's the non re-setting of the service indicator that hasn't been done I think. But I'll ring them on Monday and confirm ...

Heidi, there are certain things which should be done in the 18k miles service which aren't done in the low mileage service so I would very much suspect you will need to have a service done @ 18k miles.

Somebody on the Abarth forum just been quoted almost £400 for the first service!!! Remember though, to keep in with the warranty, you don't have to have it serviced at a Fiat/Abarth garage, just a VAT registered garage and so long as they use official Fiat parts.

I had a low mileage at yr1 so just going have the 36k at 2 yrs because it covers all the 18k stuff as well. I'll prob only be on 16k.

Unless it states 36k or 2 years you will only need to have the 18k service done. If you've only done 16k miles there is no need for them same for various other bits.

checked the book, just mileage so can just have the 18k service
