Sensible Trade-In Value for 115HLX..?

Hi,

I am strongly thinking about exchanging my Bravo with an Alfa 156, but I am wondering what trade-in value I should expect from a Fiat/Alfa dealer.

Here are the specs:

-Owner since new
-Bravo 115HLX
-'Nearly A1' - only tiny dent in the bumper.
-9500 Miles
-X Reg (Nov 2000)
-No mods.
-Perfect inside

If anyone has an idea, please let me know!

Thanks,

Barnaby

There are a lot of factors to take into account. With a main dealer, it depends on how cheap their deals are at present, e.g. if they are selling Alfas at list price then expect around £6500 for your bravo. If they are already discounted they are unlikely to offer you much more than trade price - around £5700 (they have to make their money somewhere). It may be slightly lower depending on the position of the dent and how easy it is to repair.

Other places to look are car supermarkets, especially since Alfa have just released a 'new' 156 which means these places will have loads of the 'old' model at heavily discounted prices. Again they will only offer you trade price for a p/ex. A final trick to try is to ask how much they will knock off if you don't part ex a car, the supermarkets won't change the price whatever you try but a main dealer that has a huge used-car section may knock off another £500 for not being burdened with another car. If this is the case then you need to decide whether you could get at least £6000 by selling privately, i.e. is it worth the extra hassle. Have fun.
