Has Anybody tried using Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 Which is recommmended by peugeot/Citroen instead of Selina oil which is recommended by Fiat. I am tempted to try it but do not yet know if it would invalidate the warranty

I have decided to get my Ducato 180 serviced away from the main dealer even though it is only 11 months old. Heres the prices I have been quoted:

Oil Filter: £33.00
Air Filter: £55.37
Fuel Filter: £95.40
Pollen Filter: £51.00
Selina Oil (10 Ltrs): £105.60

I have managed to get hold of GENUINE Fiat parts except the fuel filter from E/*** for the following:

Oil Filter: £12.95
Air Filter: £12.49
Fuel Filter: £52.00 (MANN WK853/21)
Pollen Filter: £12.30
Mobile 1 ESP 5W30 (10 Ltrs): £75.00

Any suggestions from members ???

Although this should have been a 180,000 service the numpties did a 30k so had to go back for belts etc, I'm assuming they changed the 3 filter exc pollen, as I don't know which are which
But slightly less than you were quoted mate, ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1418286518.564640.jpg

I use Total 9000 5w40 in my older 3 litre but this is the higher grade as recommended for peugeot Citroen so Fiat should be fine
If you look at the price of this oil at a dealer it is very expensive but this seller specialises in Total oils hence the lowest price.
I have used them for two 20 litre deliveries now and recommend them.

Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W30 Engine Oil TOT-151261-10 - 2x5L = 10 Litre

New Low SAPS generation oil especially developed for PEUGEOT AND CITROEN engines. Its very high technology allows fuel savings and optimizes the functionnement of the anti-pollution systems, such as the Diesel Particulate Filter.

Application:
* TOTAL QUARTZ INEO ECS is a lubricant special Fuel Economy of second generation, it can be used for all Diesel engines (former and new generations). It is also appropriate for the majority of the Petrol engines (consult the maintenance manual of the vehicle before use).
* TOTAL QUARTZ INEO ECS is essential for the correct functionnement of the diesel particulate filter, as for the other systems of postprocessing.
* TOTAL QUARTZ INEO ECS satisfies the most severe cycles of maintenance and in the most difficult conditions of use (motorway, intense urban circulation...), all seasons.

Performances:
* ACEA 2007 C2 & A5/B5
* QUARTZ INEO ECS is the only low SAPS oil recommended by PEUGEOT and CITROEN.
NORM PSA PEUGEOT & CITROEN B71 2290.

Client Benefits:
* Reinforces the action of the particulate filter and prolongs its lifespan, by avoiding its early filling (50% less of metal components than traditional technology oil).
* Fuel savings: up to 6 % of fuel savings in starting phase, on average 3.5 % of fuel savings in mixed cycle compared to the use of an ACEA reference oil (tests carried out on a Citroen C4 1.6 HDi).
* ECS_Emission System Control": reduction of the CO2 emissions and the pollutant emissions. In addition to the beneficial effects on the effectiveness of the dieslel particulate filter, the fall of the fuel consumption leads to decrease the CO2 emissions, the low rate of phosphorus reinforces the effectiveness of the catalytic pots, EGR valve is less clogged, thus the Nox emissions can be better controlled.
* Thanks to immediate lubrication, to the detergent and dispersive additivation which ensures a remarkable cleanliness of the engine, QUARTZ INEO ECS has been developed to follow the most severe cycles of maintenance PSA.

Thanks for that Techno100, I have ordered Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W30 Engine Oil TOT-151261-10 - 2x5L = 10 Litre.

By the way Rolopolo the handbook states to replace the pollen filter every 30,000 miles or every 24 months ???

Yes they were the prices quoted but I have added the dreaded VAT. The only fiat genuine part I couldnt get was the fuel filter so settled on the one from MANN.

Yes it's always been changed every service, just unsure what they did at that last service! They said when I challenged them on it, the fiat info/schedule they have only goes up to 150,000 miles, so they started at 30k again. But I pointed out the belt changes at 90k and that means a 180k service should have the same as a 90k they said, 'oh yeah'!

This is why a lot of people have very little confidence in garages.
My car is over 5yrs old and never been touched by one so it's been completely trouble free (y)

Techno I COMPLETELY AGREE wiv ya ................... NO ONE touches my Vehicles except me or my best mate (who's a Merc mech) ....
Everytime I buy a car it goes straight from the seller right into Gary's garage for Cam Belt/Service/New MOT ect.... then I KNOW FER SURE that its been done CORRECTLY & had the correct oils & parts fitted ......

Then the Mrs & me can climb aboard & know it will get us to where we wanna be IN ONE PIECE !!!!

I object to the word "genuine" because none of these parts are actually made by Fiat.
In fact the factory assembles vehicles from parts they purchase from the supporting industry. They buy all these parts at incredibly low prices so they can offer you a very competitive vehicle.
They gladly sell these parts to you in a box that says "genuine" because that is where the real profits comes from.
All manufacturers do this, but the markup is different. Fiat pricing is much higher than Iveco's while the products come from the same sources. You can even save a lot more money by buying directly from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) but you have to invest some time in finding them and sort out the fakes from the real OEMs.

Just to let you know that the MANN fuel filter although looks the same as the Fiat one will not fit and you have to get original from Fiat (£79.50 + VAT). Plus god know where the pollen filter goes as I cant find it. I have a feeling that they are not fitted on the Euro 5 as Rolopolo did not have one fitted when he had a service recently.

Ignore that service mate, they cocked it up, and normally it has had one, well, charged for one! Lol, just commented on your other thread, am sure it's behind the main glove box
