Yep, 0-30 on my Selecta is almost like the 16v and a lot quieter . As MEP said, it does surprise a few people.
The main downside IMO are hills, because of the nature of the CVT' box, you need to adjust the throttle just right to stop it from continuously switching 'gear'.
For around town and 50-60mph A roads, it is simply brilliant. Think of it as the lovechild of a dodgem and a go-kart.
The missus loves it (... the car, I mean )

I have only ever had one selecta it was a j reg and was only 999cc but even that was rapid Isold it to a woman in sheffield who got a little confused and hit the throttle in reverse with the door open you can guess the rest but a lamp post was involved:bang:
