Hi there im new to fiats and iv just taken a bit of a gamble. I bought a seicento as a non runner head gasket failure cooked up stoped and wouldnt start again said to have no compression , Im no real mechanic but i thought with a haynes manual and the little bit of knowlage i have I would try and fix it my self. Anyway I thought i would do a compression test just to confirm, but got distracted and decided to check for a spark. I took all the plugs out and checked for spark in the usuall way,NO SPARK!! also realised there is no fuel coming from the injector in the spi unit, why is this? is normal whent the head gasket goes or any other ideas please help i wont to start saving money on fuel:bang:

hi mate

that sounds like the crankshaft sensor has gone, its located on the drivers side of the engine at the bottom in a little bracket, you need to unscrew it from the bracket and it should come out (y)

cheers
jay

mmm... strange I suppose the only way to check the sensor is to replace it? A new engine is looking like a new plan

Im not going to give up on her just yet. A freind just told told me that when crank sensors go, occasioaly engines can get hot witch often causes miss diagnosis, thanx for your help, proberbly would have ended up breaking the car for spares, its just too good to wast.

by the way how do i test the sensor? I have a multimeter so Im halfway there?
