There is a sporting for sale close to me, 99 on a V, silver. Done 90k miles but had a replacement engine at some point. Been sitting in a garage for a year so no MOT. Going to look at it tomorrow. Any hints as to what to look for - aside from obvious body and trim damage? Just looking to use it as a runaround.
thanks for any replies! :)

Take some jump leads with you. If you can get it started, run it up till the fan comes on (or not!), check for leaks from the radiator and the water pump, any signs of overheating, split petrol tank, etc.

Generally, though, the only thing to kill a deal might be rust. Some Cinqs and Seis rust around the rear seat belt mounts and back from the wheelarch. Easy enough to bodge, very difficult to do a proper repair.

cheers for that. According to the bloke, he put a booster on it and it started first time. Off to look at it today. If semi sound then will take the plunge.

I'm 6ft so hopefully will get in it ok!
