Technical Seicento 1.1 mpi - differential gear leakage

Hello guys,

I think I have a problem.
It seems that my differential gear is leaking on both sides; I think there is a little play if I shake the driveshafts (I'm not speaking of the little play that cv joints have: I have grabbed the shaft where it exit from the differential gear, before the inner cv joint).
As you can see, it seems that there is a leakage from there (although I'm not entirely sure of that, because there are other source of leakage).

Have you ever change the differential gear bearings and ring seals?

The whole diff assembly comes out the back of the box. I'd recommend taking the box out to do it on the bench.

What is the oil level like now?

the oil that was inside the gearbox weight about 1.2 kg

So, you have taken the oil out?

yes, I took the oil out.
One of the jobs to do is changing the gearbox oil.

If gearbox oil weighs more than 1kg per litre you have taken a litre out from a total of 1.6 litre capacity.

You can never get it all out so I reckon you have lost less than half a litre.
