Technical Sedici Remote Key

My remote key has broken apart but still works to open and start the car if held together with sellotape. I have picked up a blank case and key blank and transferred the remote module but although I can still open and close the doors remotely I am unable to start the car - service/immobilser light flashes on dashboard

Is there a transponder chip in the original (broken) key case that is separate to the remote module and if so where is it - I can't see anything.

Sorted - the chip can be removed from the old key and transferred to the new blank. total cost of new key £7 !!
