OK, just got a 2004 JTD115, done about 50K, 2 owners.:)

I have a few queries/differences from my first Multipla (owned from new a 2000W JTD105, one of the first UK models )

1. remote alarm doesn't flash the lights when set/unset - I saw from another thread you could disconnect the battery and re-connect to reset this - are there any pitfalls in doing this?

2. On start-up, there is a loud clicking under dash for about 6-seconds, either before or after ignition (or both) - is this normal??

3. trip "computer" says I am doing about 35MPG, but this must be wrong, am keeping records of mileage/derv used to check

4. above 70, front wheel vibrating - is this just wheel imbalance? Fairly new firehawks fitted all round

Any help/comments/suggestions welcome

1/ Dunno - not much help I know...

2/ Never experienced that!

3/ I understand that the gallons are US gallons - but personally I'd put it down to FIAT electronics weirdness and inaccuracy.

4/ Maybe wheel imbalance, but if you have alloys it could be a buckled wheel(s). They seem to be made of Italian cheese!

I have a 2004 JTD, my lights flash when alarmed, I suspect a dodgy relay myself

Mine has clicking also, but mine doesn't sound so noisy now...

I get about 35mpg also, which I'm happy with, even if it is american gallons..

I've found multiplas very sensitive to wheel/tyre balance, get them balanced 1st...

about the wheel vibrating ,you should check all the screws from wishbone maybe they are not tight enough.

Thanks for the replies.

On the wheel vibration it was just tracking apparently, although the smoothness is now wearing off again

On the ticking thing it is the airbag, but I'm used to it now!

I haven't done anything about the alarm, but noticed on another thread somebody had lights but no sound, so that;s interesting!

Agree with jcc (above).

There are no downside of disconnecting a battery for few minutes.

If you are getting vibration again it may be worth having the bushes on the wishbone checked. It is possible a worn bush could be the culprit.
