Re: seats

Lift the seats up and you'l find a little clip-like thing which is part of the rail. Take a hammer and hit them flat. Its these clips that are stopping the seats going too far back and therefore not coming off the rails.

Re: seats

Yeah straight swap! Its easiest if you get one side of the seat into the rails, then the other.

Refit: seats

Yer They ain't too hard to slot on - look how it should be before removing, and (Mental) note the way the U bracket and its plastic clip sit around the raised bump. I started by removing rear seats first and refitting last.

Make sure you slide onto the rails square -When you have on runners - don't forget to lift the adjuster bar (thingy you lift normally to slide seat back and forth). It hits the raised bit in the foot well. I used my foot but is easier wi a helper IMO.

I struggled to remount the U brackets (last Sunday) but if you can see 3 notches in the runners (from behind) on both sides it's just a matter of lining em up, and getting 13mm botl back in a few turns each side first.

Rear seats re only 2 bolts – one on each – as with the base - 1 piece seat.

Good Luck Charly Boy and If your replacing base seats – get ready for whole new Uno ride!!!

What do you do with old seats? Someone wi a loved Mk1 might have them.

Louie Bee.

well Done!!

Nice Picks Charlie. Don’t mention it lol.

I didn’t realise you have a 5 door. Did you disable the tilt forward leaver?

What’s the join like around the 60/40 - Is it stable at the top? Oh and the ride?

Louie Bee.

Re: out with the old... in with the new

no they still tilt, could come in handy.... lol

plus i think i own one of the only 5drs with tilting seats :p hehe

i havnt had chance to have a drive with the new seats today as have been doing coursework.

the 60/40 is fine, the seats are a little higher up on the back (not level witht he top of the parcel shelf) but before never had a 60/40 so its turned out to be an upgrade within an upgrade.lol

Re: out with the old... in with the new

You know, in that other thread I said about how I didn't like the tweedy-look of those seats in the Uno Turbo.

But... in your 5-dr Uno, they look soooooooo much better than those original seats! Much more business-like, less 'girly', just more modern really. Funny how the same seats can be comparatively worse or comparatively better!

Well done,
-Alex

Re: out with the old... in with the new

lol alex, they go with the grey/black doorcards better than my old "red'n'blue tartan" seats :yuck:

ride seems so much different today, its more comfortable and has a more "sporty" feel to it lol

Re: out with the old... in with the new

Those original seats are just horrendous, i thought mine were bad till i saw those lol i have the cream coloured seats. Ur original ones look as though the car was built for Grannys!!!! New ones look so much better. :D

Granny Seats?

Hi All,

My seats were the same color. No wonder no one is interested in buying them to upgrade (from The Mk 1 bench seats) lol. There must be some elderly Uno owners on forum?

Charlieboy, I agree with you on the ride…

Louie Bee.
