General Seatbelt Problem

General Seatbelt Problem

It is an EU safety thing. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking and scroll down to "The e mark".

Thanks again RobynPJ....(y)

Reading the explanation of the "e mark" in that link gives this this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Forum_for_Harmonization_of_Vehicle_Regulations#Type_approval

Which further explains the certification process
Seems that all the signatories accept each others certification

Thus the "e4" certified seatbelt extenders were certified in the Netherlands
Hopefully this should be OK

Sadly the only way to ultimately find out is to be a real live "crash test dummy" - Which I hope I don't become !!..:D

Will still most likely get a pair of them and will post here how they go
As in improving the neck issue - not the ultimate performance review - unless that happens "by accident"
Will give them a good looking over
The steel tongue should be OK as it is simplicity itself
The buckle will hopefully be screwed together, or can be opened up and have a good look at the vital parts - again, they are not that complex either
Unfortunately the I don't have the equipment to measure the hardness of the steel bits and nor do I know what the specs are on the steel they are made from - would need to be better than mild steel.

Problem Solved - well one anyway

Bought a pair of the seat belt extenders

they work a treat ...:slayer:

So that problem solved...(y)

Now the only problem left is whether they will work in a life and death crash

Will let you know if we have one and they do...:D

Won't say a word if they don't....

Interesting. I find the seatbelt rubbing on my neck and was looking for a solution but in the meantime I make sure to slip it under my shirt collar. I'd like to try these extenders but the quality worries me too. It would solve my wife's problem about finding the seatbelt socket!
