General scudo engine light/ cuts out

2002 2.0 jtd 170k scudo. over last couple of weeks it has started cutting out and engine light comes on when eventually restarts (may after 2 tries) seems to have a distinct diesel rattle(for a few minutes) light eventually goes out had it diagnosed on a snap-on unit (2 x faults) as low pressure on fuel rail and heater plug fault now i am having trouble starting on a morning (a small squirt of easy start and it starts ) the heater light does not come on , ran it all day yesterday with no probs at all but other days it can be a constant problem + wont start when hot it also has a lack of power but looking at previous threads on the forum it may be the pipe from the turbo intercooler and i will have a look at that. any ideas chaps/chappeses :worship: ???

I am having the same kind of problem with my 2003 2.0 JTD. It occasionally stalls and then I can’t restart for 10 or 15 minuets. Then it runs with the engine light on until I restart it again. I’ve had it into my local garage but they could not work it out, the faults that showed up didn’t make sense to them. I think they cleaned out some likely places etc and it was ok for a week but just did it again at a busy junction in rush hour with passengers on board (it’s a cab). I right pain. I will be watching this thread with interest, Cheers.

This problem is now fixed, it turned out to be a fuel pump relay.

Hi there its Linden, my van has the same fault, how much is the relay & did you fit it yourself? Fiat have quoted me £300

If the post referes to the double relay fitted at inner wing its either £14 or £24 (theres 2 types)....fitted in seconds.

Its Linden again, mine was the one on the end of the pump. Fiat robbed me out of £522 to supply& fit
