Hi all, I've been told by quite a few suppliers now that rebuild parts for my 2004my 5 speed fiat scudo 2.0 jtd are no longer available????

Surely such a mass produced gearbox must have parts availability? is it a case or mistaken identity when referencing which gearbox i wonder from registration plate???
I think the gearbox code name is ML5C.

Anyone here found this an issue also?

thx

hi tubby,
Just got here on this cool forum, I have been told the repairs to my Fiat Scudo Combi are likely to be £2500 +
and I can't afford it, so have to sell for scrap and/or parts
I'm looking for private buyers , as scrap dealers are offering about £250
Is this vehicle any use to you ?
Dave

hi Tubby,
Good to hear from you
Yes we've no problems at all with the gear box, inc gear 5
our issue is with cylinder 4 , which failed the compression test
and it looks like we have the exact same or a very similiar model
see screenshot of the V5C
Currently the vehicle is in a garage in Seaford, Sussex

Hi does it over heat? ( Head gasket issue) Or simply miss fire ( cracked piston? What have you been told by garage? Does it have current MOT? Ie can it be driven back to Essex. Thx

hi, it doesn't over-heat , but it doesn't run
My friend who was driving it applied foot to accelerator and that failed
so she managed to free-wheel to a safe place, and it was towed to a garage
garage did the compression test , cylinder failed
then he gave a quote ( see pdf above ) an estimate on cost of repair
He said he'd have to do further work to determine the exact nature of the problem
It still has MOT to June 2026

hi i see the quote is for 8 valves so they think the cambelt has broken. shame.
id be interested or gearbox parts etc but its far from me (halsted essex), ill get some shipping quotes, see how much.

thanks Tubby
the mechanic told me they were including all the possible parts needed
But that some of them may not be required, depending upon what they find
yes could be a gear box salvage
I'm not scrapping it just yet
