Got myself a tube of Meguiars Scratch X the other day because i had some very light scratches around the keyhole area(previous owner :(). Because they were so light i figured the stuff would make light work of them, so i used it and to my surprise, it made absolutely no difference, not better but thankfully not worse.

I'm open minded and don't doubt the credentials of the stuff so i figure i must have done something wrong. Maybe i didn't work the stuff in enough but i didn't want to do any damage to the paintwork so i was careful.

Has anyone used this and gotten the desired results? if so how did you go about using it?

its not crap it just doesn't have much cut :D

try t-cut and you will come back saying words along the lines of "Now i have sh@66ed my paintwork with t-cut now what do i do?"

scratch-x needs to be worked in well its a diminishable abrasive and gets finer the more its worked many treatments are better than a one hit wonder as it gives you plenty of opportunity to see if you have begun to go too far

they have pulled the video on how to use it :bang:

foam pad work in alternating up-down left-right and circular and for about 2 mins until the scratch-x looses all colour and just leaves an clear oily residue behind then wipe up with a dry cloth

If you can feel the scratches with your finger nail it might need wet sanding withs something like P-2000 or P3000 first then remove marring bringing back the shine to the clear coat with scratch-X

I got this kit from Aldi last year

dont know when they will be getting it in again but it works well

Yep the G3 is very good for using around door handles. Or you can try Farecla's scratch remover paste which is pretty much the same thing.
