just changed my brake disks as they kept making a screeching noise while i was pulling off and a on-off squeaking noise whilst driving it that increased with speed

have changed disks and pads on the front and then new shoes on the back and it's still doing it....

it only seems to be when i am pulling off and sounds like a brake screeching kind of noise...

but as these are all new now i dont know what it could be?

anyone got any ideas?

it's a 1.8hlx bravo

i dont suppose you have put the pads on the wrong way have you?..not trying to make you sound thick BUT when an ex put her car in garage to have pads and discs changed, soon as she set off,was schreachin like hell and makin an awful noise.we stopped and I looked and i cud see the pad on the opposite side..(the stupid soso's didnt put them on right!)

So just a thought mate as it sounds familar

no definately on the right way mate and i will check the back plate tomorrow

the thing thats weird is once it doing above like 5mph it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore...

yer, didnt think about the backplate..tbh mate, when i had fitted new discs and pads,it started to scratch, but soon worn down.it cud possibly be that ya pads are just scrapin on the discs with them bein new and the fact ya pads are new and alot thicker than ya worn down ones's.

im just thinkin mate of past issues,im not a mechanic lol

yea it's just weird as i obviously checked it before i lowered it back down off the jack for it catching on anything

but yea it might just be the fact they are new... is there anything i can do about it on is it a case of putting up with it until it sorts itself out?
