Just joined the forum and wanted to say Hi! As the unimaginative user name suggests, I own a 2012 500 Lounge in black!

Have had it from new and at 3 years old am just about to move away from main agent for servicing to CM Garage in East Kilbride which seems to have a good reputation on here.

The car broke down for the first time this morning, clutch fluid all over the road. The recovery guy confirmed its the clutch slave cylinder that has failed, so I have had the car towed in to the Fiat main agent....the three year warranty expires at midninght tomorrow!

Now to my first question.....the service department at the dealer was open when I arrived with the car. Initial indications are the part is in theory covered under warranty, but the service department mumbled about potentially not being able to make a warranty claim till Monday. Now on Monday the car will be over 3 years old and out of warranty, but in my view I have notified the fault to the dealer today.

Anyone else come accross this and/or had a slave cylinder changed in the third year under warranty?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Hi, and welcome, :)

sorry no experience under warranty,

the parts are NOT spectacularly tough.. BUT mine has lasted 11 years and 80Kmiles - others fail pretty quickly..,

starting the claim in the warranty period should be enough, (y)
