iv bought a sat nave+ off ebay and wanted to no if there was any easyer was of making it work just to use the sat nav as i dont need the use of the hands free phone option, what do i need to get to make it work iv got the unit working in my car as a cd player and raido and iv got hold of the maps cd what els will i need to get to make the satnav work thanx chris

The only extra thing you would need to enable the SatNav to work is a GPS aerial. You could get the original one which would mean replacing the external roof aerial, mounting and cables for the Connect Nav+ versions.

Or, you can get an accessory one that mounts on top of the roof or dashboard. There's a combined GPS + GSM aerial with the correct Stilo CN+ connectors available on eBay for £31.48 here:

Yes, navigation CD is the map CD.

This is the rear panel connectors diagram. The plugs that go into connector A are actually 3 seperate, different colour plugs (A, B and C in the smaller diagram) that clip together. From memory they are yellow, orange and blue. They have polarising lugs and cutouts on them that should prevent them being plugged into the wrong parts of the connector. The CD multichanger connector should be blue and plugs into position C (pins 13 to 20) of the smaller diagram.

Position B (pins 7 to 12) are for the steering wheel buttons.

Position A (pins 1 to 6) would only be used if you have an external sub/amplifier in the boot.

I can't remember there being a white plug wth only 4 wires, where does it go in relation the the diagram below?

Where is the orange plug now in relation to the diagram?

Most of the wires in connector D are for an additional external telephone (not the CN+ built in telephone).

Pins 9 (Orange/white) and 18 (Blue/dark blue) are for the CN+ microphone that goes in the roof switch panel. You won't need those as you say you don't want to use the CN+ hands free functions.

Pin 13 connects to the airbag ECU. It triggers the inbuilt CN+ telephone to automatically phone the emergency services (112) if you have an accident that activates an airbag.

Pin 12 (Black/dark blue) is an earth connection.

Colours quoted above are from the eLEARN manual which is often incorrect for wiring colours.

sorry had a look at the 4 wires with my specks on and the other 2 wiers are ....

green/light blue
black/light pink

??

by the way guys ur helping alot :)

I can't see any Green/blue wire from connector D on the wiring diagram and the only Black/pink wires are from pins 16 and 17 for the external telephone. There's also another Black/pink wire on pin 1 of connector C for the CAN line.

Does the CN+ work as much as you want it to without these connections?

If not, what isn't working?

its not switching it self on/off wen i tern the key .

sat nav is asking for nav cd i bernt one off the net on to a cd and wen inserted it says "cd error" ? may not have down loaded the right map cd any one got a link for the right one

cd changer isnt working, on the changer unit the (1.2.3.4.5) buttons are flashing from orange to green this was working today but the whole cncc+ just went off and wen i switch it back on that is what started to happen

Check that you have 12v at pin 4 of connector C only when the ignition is switched on. If not, check fuse #49 in the dashboard fuse box.

There are 2 different map systems for the CN+, NIT G1 and NIT G2. The Stilo CN+ will only work with the NIT G1 map. If you're sure you've downloaded and burnt NIT G1 data then either the data is corrupt, the burn has failed or the CN+ is faulty.

I don't know much about the IDC-A09 CD changers apart from the fact that they are notoriously unreliable. Is the blue plug from the CD Changer plugged in correctly to position C of connector A as explained in post #4 above?

just checked all the fuses and there fine do u no what wire from the unit is the key live ?

cd chager has fixed it self by the way lol

The key on supply goes to pin 4 of connector C on the CN+ as I posted in post #10 above. It's a blue wire according to the wiring diagram, but as I said before, the colours in the wiring diagrams are often wrong.

Good news about the CDC.

There is a power setting in the CN+ but I think it only affects how it turns off, not how it turns on. Could be worth a try though.

Switch the CN+ on with the "ON" button. When it's booted up, press the "SETUP" button, then select "CONNECT" then "POWER OFF" then "Deactivation dependant on ignition key". To use the on screen buttons, rotate the right hand knob to highlight the required button then press "ENTER" to select it.

Sorry, I don't know where you can download it from.

heads up on the cn+
