Salvage after write-off

No - we still have the V5.
I have checked with the FOS and the wording on our insurance paperwork. The car does still belong to us, and will continue to do so until we accept an offer from the insurance company.
Funny thing - the car has now disappeared off the salvage company's auction website since we pointed out to them that we knew they were doing something illegal...

Aye JR, insurance can be a joke at times & not a funny one at that. I was about a couple of months before things were settled. An assessor came out & viewed my vehicle, nice chap, chatted about cars & that. Ironically like yourself I had a renewal quote for my wright off diesel hack later on when everything was settled & I had purchased another car, three cylinder jobbie, £30 tax, nippy enough in the right gear, ideal for around town.
