The clamp is not needed unless it is damaged but you will need the gasket. Why do they make them of such crap, I have never had to change a sump on a motor until this one. :mad:

hi. i must be a gluten for punishment bought one of these same color in 1981 in a few years in was in the scrap yard rotten as a pear but at the time was the bees knees did 120mph once mind you it was down hill on the motorway don't think i have been over 70mph these days as regards the sump didn't bother with the clamp & the first time i have seen a rubber gasket ????

They're very common on auto transmissions you can generally reuse them no problem once you clean the surfaces. Where they are compressed or out of shape boiling water can sometimes return them to their original shape.

hi good idea with the gasket if you are stuck but at that price i use new don't want it to leak
