Hey,

Somehow I'm starting to get a few little spots of rust on the roof of my car.
Does anyone know any gud tips to get rid of and/or prevent getting them??

Thanks

Panel needs prepped correctly and re-painted.

i got a tiny bit of on the roof of my car, suppose about as big as the tip of a pen so it was only small so i rubbed it smooth, painted it with a touch up pen and laquered over it and now its near perfect.

Try and remove as much rust as possible, using a grinder with wire wheel attachment for large areas of rust, a dremel with wire wheel for small areas or just sand away using a block and paper. Try removing until you get good metal around the rust. Treat with something like hammerite Kurust or Bilthambers hydrate 80 to convert any residual rust. Once treated prime and paint. Primer offers no protection and will absorb water likewise filler so always apply topcoat and lacquer before driving out in rain i.e. as soon as possible. If it's major rust the only real option is to cut it out and let in new metal.
