Technical Running lights issue

Two years in on ownership and we love our Abarth 500 but recently it’s been going through its running light bulbs like there’s no tomorrow.

We’ve replace in pairs and singularly but they never seem to last for more than a month or so.

They also seem to dim when the headlights are switched on. Is that normal or do we have a fault?

Any advise appreciated and if anyone can recommend a service garage in the Colchester /Essex area we would be very interested.

They turn off when headlights are on. Well mine do anyways. Mine turned out to be bad contacts in the ballast.
It’s a pain in the ass, but I took my bumper off and sprayed the ballasts with wd40 and realigned the contact pins. It’s now problem free for me.

Or just turn them off in settings, you don’t need them for MOT

They have two elements in them. Dimmer one when headlights are on and bright one when headlights are off. I found buying bulbs from Halfords link to bulb we find they last well. At least two years. They only go in the socket one way, be sure to get it right.
