had some repairs to do before taking rufty-tufty to a MOT test on sat 25th,
replace 2 studs in the manifold, then repair 2 earth leads to make the rad fan work and the rear screen wash work, checked other test items, failed....on..
hole in inner cill near `A` post, and a loose seat, was a broken seat frame,
repairs beeing done on monday (hopefully!) found a drivers seat with a different pattern to rest of car (1000s stripes) at lock up 1,(y)

Good stuff...(y)
 the welder who mike contracted the job to didn`t remove the carpet to see if any wires,and......melted the wires!!!!, causing a short,to blow the fuse for the indicators! cause the engine to run rough, and no gauges working! when i went back mike found the fuse blown, so , put another in,turned key, blew! so he put a 20 A in,(big no-no!) blew down the road,
had a look myself to find he had not undone the cill plate at all, and...melted wires!!! great! took it back to the garage,to fix it, needless to say "wes the (sometime) welder won`t be working for mike or me! again!!!

SO AM I, I use to help a friend do welding work, and we all ways took the carpet out
or moved it away, and was the fireman,
1,I have taken the panda back to the garage to repair the wiring,

I was afraid of this happening to the white clx when I had the sills plated recently, so took the trims off and pulled back the carpets myself. I also made sure the welder was aware that the wiring was there. Sorry to hear about your problem, just goes to show that this is something anyone should watch if they have similar work done.

Sorry to hear this, I'm gobsmacked too - not just the mess it's made of the wiring but the fire risk too! The welders we've used before have been (rightly) paranoid about fire so have insisted on stripping everything back. Glad it didn't melt your carpet or worse at least, but a pain for the hassle. Still, good that the welding's done and another one nearly back on the road.

thinks i may get sergio back on the road next, needs a engine change, some other checks and off we go! (he says) mind you! the 130 fiat may be finished for the road in a week or 10 days time (dream on?)

also, drivers side pads worn uneven, disc is 8mm thick, n/s is 9mm thick, so, new pads and discs, also put a new hub into the carrier on monday night, wheel bearing too noisey now, all parts are in panda 2, as not been to lock-up 3 since monday! no rest for the rightous!
