Technical rubber suspension stops

Technical rubber suspension stops

Is this the 2 door 500?
Not the 5 door 500L?

If so, you need the car up on stands, to remove the lower shock absorber bolt on each side so the axle can swing down and the springs can come out.

Use a jack and length of timber to raise and lower the axle, but don't lift the weight of the car this way.

Bump stops can then be prised out and back in but can put up a fight.

Is there a reason they're being changed?

One of mine has fallen off too...
The end of the turret has rusted away on mine, still wondering what to do about it...
It's not an MOT issue, but should be replaced as works as part of the suspension, it's not just a bump stop...
Hopefully yours is an easier fix than mine.

Do you have axle stands, decent jack and tools including a breaker bar?

If so, not too hard, there's a good guide to dropping the rear suspension here:

It's a Panda, but same as the 500 (The 5-door MPV 500L is a very different car).

Agree. You need to remove the spring but it should be really easy. Lubricate teh nipple on the new bump stop with silicon lubricant spray and you mey need to use a big lever to push it upwards until it locates. You mey be able to support the car on axle stands and get ajack under it which also does it quick fashion. If you have the tools its only an hour to do both sides from start to finish.

Lubricate the nipple
