OK so lets say you have two lanes onto a round about. Can somebody please just entertain me on what these two lanes are used for. I am not talking about right of way just yet just what lanes are used for which exits.

Proving myself right kinda thing

Back in the day, left hand lane was used for either turning left, or going straight over. Right hand lane used for turning right.

However that seems to have been thrown out the window now. As many roundabout lanes prompt you to be in the right hand lane to go straight over.

depends on road markings

some can take all sorts of ways
some left lane left only and right and straight on in right hand lane

and larger ones can get even harder and have to know where your going

yeah the round about i am on about was a 4 point, single lane enter and exit. All apart from one of the entrances which had two lanes. (Does this make sense?)

I was using the only double lane entrance in the left lane heading straight over to a single lane exit. I was already on the roundabout and this guy pushed out of the next junction and nearly into the side of me. As he couldnt get passed as i had stopped he was screaming his head off saying "Do I not know how to use a roundabout?'' (y) YEAH MATE! I got as far as opening the door until i realised what i was doing. But what a pleb. Not only did i have right of way as i was already on the roundabout but i was in the correct lane for the exit i was heading for. the left.

What worries me is the number of people who don't know the highway code.

I would be in the right there if he went into me?

sounds like you were in the right mate.

i keep a baseball bat in my car now, twice in 2 weeks i've been followed due to a heated debate through hand signals, does the trick though (y)

haha i was just doing that before i refreshed the page, put it up soon. The roundabout from above looks a funny one but still holds the same rules i guess. i will put them up in a minute for your views

yeah wouldn't go as far as a baseball bat  haha calmed down personally some what over the last couple of years. Just this morning i just nearly lost it. :bang: It was only when i realised i was near work when i snapped out of it.

Which is all well and good till some feckwit in teh highways dept decides the lines are too confusing and has them all burnt off resulting in survival of the fastest/most aggressive

theres one about 3/4 a mile from home with 3 lanes into it (one to industrial estate, one to M62 westbound and the other towards snaith and m62 east (josh will know it)

i once ended up going "over" the roundabout on the abnormal load waiting area (centre of roundabout is "grasscrete" with dropped curbs at each end)

as some numpty got in the wrong lane and began to drift into the side of me (on my left) as i entered the roundabout as they got in the wrong lane after undertaking me on the approach  result of my short cut is i still got in front of them

here you go daz

red line to industrial estate

purple to motorway

yellow to snaith

green dots grasscrete area

you dont get that much of a clear view from this angle though but get an idea of the roundabout. Loads of crashes here though

the black line is where i got to and the dotted was where i was going. The green is the guy entering

@ andy making a post for person below now as long as you was in pink even in red going on by incident
would make an opinion to the lane on bottom left corner
it would not matter squat

top left going into middle top
all of them would have no

face it other guy was an ass travling fast

compleatly unmarked i guess i would use right hand lane by how it is
overall the other guy will ahve being tavling too fast and not using his eyes

lol, i've had 3 people recently after me beeping at them to show them they were in the wrong actually follow me, pull in front of me getting me to stop and stuff, scarey when you don't have anything to protect you, don't know wtf is wrong with some people.

one guy, when i was turning right, he was going out of the junction i was going into nearly hit my side before i turned, obviously didn't see me, i tooted so he followed me, pulled in and got out, bat in hand, he drove off without looking at me lmao

lol ;) if i get tooted at for doing something daft i'll either just ignore it or wave to acknowledge, not to those who beep lots and gesture like an ass though, no call for it, people do make mistakes.

dad got beeped at on a roundabout
basicaly when a car goes to exit of roundabout to our entrance we go
20% of the time some tosser sets of fast

alternative is tossers block our entrance to roundabout meaning we have so swerve around gaps genrally someone beeps at us for doing this

Seems to me like the guy was a div - out of curisoity where you indicating at all?

to go stright on?

even when going straight on you should indicate left once your passed the last exit before yours, some people indicate a wee bit too early and thus the guy might have thought he was going left.

Either way as Ged was already on roundabout the point is moot the guy is a div and Ged has nothing to worry about.
