Technical Rough idling problem has now fixed itself. 2.2 100bhp

Hi. I had the problem of idling rough when cold but when warmed up it was fine. just recently it started to idle eratic when warm occasionally. Now virtually to the day it started a year ago it is now fine. When I start up it idles perfect with no smoke. It is also fine when warm.
I am at a loss as to what caused a fault that could rectify itself. Has anyone got any idea's what it could be.

Could be a bad electrical connection. Apparently a bad connection on the gearbox to chassis cable can do all sorts of funny things. Low voltage and amperage electronic components need very good electrical connections, which is why some are gold plated.

I had a new EGR fitted and a software update but it didn't solve the problem so it looks like it could be an electrical/earth fault. If it starts playing up again I will take the earths off and copper slip them.
