Hopefully my croma will turn up tomorrow, it does not have any roof rails, so I am considering purchasing roof bars, has anyone got any and if so what make are they easy to fit, what are noise levels like etc.

I have a pair of roof bars for a Chroma, they fit easily in minutes with very little wind noise,I also have a Fiat roof box if you are interested.Let me know

You can retro-fit the roof rails....

but it's about £500 for the parts!

Where do/how do they fit. The standard mounts for cars without roof rails or is there more involved.

I've not had the recent opportunity to closely examine a Croma with roof rails but they look pretty integral to the basic car/roofline.

If you look on the long black/grey plastic strips in the top LH & RH edges of the car there are four rectangular slide-out panels, two front and two back.

But they are the standard roof rack mount points and to my knowledge the longitudinal roof bars appear to locate at there ends and not at the normal roof rack mount points.

I guess I need to find a real life Croma with the bars to see for myself.

Might be wrong but if you look at this pic:

I reckon the front and back bits are just fairings and the real load is taken by the rack mounting points - what do you think?

Am I the only one with roof bars here??

The ends of each rail are anchored to the roof structure, the intermediate
is also anchored to the roof, Internally my headlining is profile is different to a Croma which does not have roof rails. I have said in the past that Croma'S WITH roof rails are fitted on build at the factory. Retro fitting them is a tricky, as you do not have the same load bearing support of the roof structure.

Hi, I have a 2006 Prestigio which came with the roof rails from the factory. I am in the process of getting some Thurle brackets and a roof box. I will take a look at my rails to see how they are fitted and let you know.

On another subject I have been in and out of the dealers for the last 2 years with the (large) sunroof not closing properly, they seem to think that the runners keep going out of alignment, (our drive does have a bit of camber on it). I am wondering if a loaded roof box will cause the Croma to implode!!!!

Does anyone have any roof bars for sale for an old panda??

Matt

Hello. Either you want to carry an old panda on your Croma roofrack, or you've posted on the wrong thread! This thread is in the Croma section, might be better to start a new thread in panda-land.
