Deffinately based on Chrome IMO, has a social networking twist to it.

Hadnt heard anything of it until now but looks interesting so will give it a go

looks like chrome with a few extensions pre installed. im not gonna bother with it
from a bit of usage and setting up extensions i think the reason it appears so much like chrome, is because it is a chrome based browser and the extensions are from chrome.
was setting up Gmail when i saw the url bar flash chrome.extension.somethingalongthesesortsoflines..

Im getting used to it now. Im gonna stick with it for a while and see how it goes but im liking it so far, shows you new stories on facebook, tumblr, any new emails on gmail and other things too
3 identical messages through facebook telling me to download it. I smell spam.

Must be using social networking(facebook) to advertise itself, makes sense I suppose, if you use it maybe your friends should to?

Sorry Venters and you too Eklipze3k and anyone else on FiatForum i may have spamed.
I installed it on the new PC fine and managed to click skip, but then when i tried it on the netbook forgot about that bit :bang: so its now mass PM'ing all my contacts in FB all 458 of them..
Venters did recieve just 1 or more from me?

That's not good.
Did you not read the bit where it ask's for access to everything in your facebook?
Yes. when you set it up though and it connects to your facebook it asks "Do you wish to share this with your friends" and you are presented with a table showing your friends. I just clicked the wrong button which said yes.. instead of "Skip this"
Nothing to do with what it has access to Just user error. If i didnt let it access my friends then the extension which shows the news feed wouldnt work.

I'm talking about the big message that pops up when you first install it, not the setting up of it after. The message tells you exactly what it can/will do if you give it permission to access your facebook.
Looks like your the only one that didn't press skip ..
Like jip0 its not for me, I'll just continue using Chrome ..

2 people on my facebook friends list have this as their status.

Thats the exact same one that Google Chrome uses for its permissions. and ive never had an issue with Chrome using that extension.
It was this page where it asks you to "Invite" your friends.
It was installed onto 2 PC's one i clicked "Skip this Step" the other i forgot and pressed Invite. Which is when you all got the spam.
Since then uninstalled it because i prefer Firefox and Safari

That page allows you to manually send friends a invite to RockMelt, it has nothing to do with the permissions you gave it when you installed it.
The permissions you gave it when you installed it is the reason your spamming friends ..
