seriously guys, those heading out for whatever reason tonight or early tomorrow morning, please take huge care on the roads, here they are absolute sheet ice everywhere.

the gritters have been out but its too cold for the grit to work so the roads are an absolute skating rink. just moved the cinq, managed 4th gear wheelspin at about 1krpm on a flat road, every corner was less than 5mph, on one occasion i wasnt even at a speed that registered at the bottom of the speedo, on full lock and only just made a 90 degree turn :stunned:

wouldnt go out on them again tonight even if i was paid tbh

I was meant to be working til 1am. THANKFULLY it was a BAPTAP for a group of retired health centre workers. They knew what the weather was like and left early. It's taken me the best part of 40 minute to get from Dyce to Garthdee. Anderson Drive (The main road through Aberdeen) is a bloody disgrace. No attempt to even try and clear/grit the road. Yet again I've to see a single gritter out. I believe north of town it's even worse near Menie (How about some gritters, Donald???)

As Mark says...take it easy folks.

We were on the A90 at about 10 pm last night. Menie was ok but the Aitkenshill stretch was drifting badly and causing lots of problems. Thankfully we were in Dad's Bravo which can cope with anything. My 1.6 Mjet would have struggled with those conditions: I've already had to be towed up the hill to my house once this winter. In fact it's staying where it is for now and I'm working from home today.

My mate is just off the Ellon bypass. He'd gone to do a quiz in Porty (which surprisingly got cancelled) and only just got through Menie - seemingly under police convoy. Glad I'm back in the city now!
