Hello all just a quickie ive got a 98 Marea hlx 2.0 20v and was wondering how to remove the rev limiter as my car only revs up to 6000rom any ideas will be much appreciated...

If it's only going to 6000rpm I'd suspect there is an issue with the engine. Mines revved to about 7k before I had the limit upped to 7250.
Not sure how to adjust the rev limiter on a MK1 unfortunately with the MK2 T reg and newer it can be done via OBD port but the MK1 doesn't have that.

cheers for that well i think il take it for a service at fiat see what they think or is there anything you can suggest....
A decent service may be all it needs. If it hasn't had one for a while it can only help. Dirty air filters can affect the way a car pulls high into the rev range.

Ive only just bought it this week so not sure when service was last done but it only done 62000miles, this is my 2nd one btw just cant get enuff of them:slayer:

Checked the timing belt? Book says 75000 miles but you would be mad to leave it that long.

will have a look tomorrow my last one didnt have a cambelt change its whole life and that had done 130000, the only reason thats not with us anymore is bad judgement over a hump back bradge
