General rev gauge.

hi peeps my dad has just gave me a rev gauge with the shift light. just wondering wich wire i conect the signal wire to. i know it one on the coil pack but witch 1? my dad thinks its the negative. is so witch 1 is it?

It is not quite that easy as the seicento has two coil packs so doing it in this method will only give you half the actual revs. Im afraid this is where my advice ends as i do not know how to get around this. I have an 899cc and am trying to fit the sporting rev counter and have been poking around for the wires!

pk thanks mate. but i was thinking. were does the origanal rev counter ger the signal from? cant i conect it at the back of the dials. if so does anyone know with one give the sgnal to the origanal counter.

the signal for the revs comes out of socket 23 from memory out of the ECU it is a purple and black wire. If you test this wire on a multimeter it should rear approx 1.6v @ idle and 3.4v @ 4000 RPM. There is a good guide here....

Im not sure whether the ECUs are different but you can easily check by seeing if the wire that comes out of pin 23 is purple/black and then testing it. If it is not then i was wrong but if it is then good luck with your job.

Hm... cinq sporting already have a rev guage ? Can he not use the same pin ?

I dunno as i do not own a cinq but i thought that not all of them had rev counters but i may be wrong! i would imagen that the wire would be the same blue/purple.

all cinq sporting has a rev counter ! And all S and SX ( 899 engine) does not have one.

Does not apply to sei that only sporting has a rev counter?

I think it's pin 23 on a 1.1 Panda also, so might be the same accross the board, or lucky coninsodence.
