Hi, I've just joined the forum although I've used it as a resource many times in the past. My wife has had a 2004 Multipla JTD for three years.

The front discs and pads need changing and I'd like to do the work myself. I've done similar work on other cars but as there is no Haynes for the Multipla, I'd appreciate any hints from those who've done this work themselves. Is a clamp adequate for pushing back the piston or does it require a wind-back tool like some cars?

Any info would be most appreciated before I get started. Thanks.

hi there ribbit
a clamp is adequate for pushing the piston back, then its just straight forward unbolt the calipers, unbolt the disc, old one off new one on, rebolt the discs on then same as changing brake pads push the pads open with the piston, rebolt the calipers bleed the calipers job done.

Thanks. And I assume there are just the usual two bolts securing the discs?

it is either just a screw in the disc or the two bolts easy to remove either way if you get stuck post a pic of front and back of discs and ill point it out cheers

Thanks again. Just trying to eliminate the element of surprise when I do the job. I replaced the ARB drop links recently and noticed the condition of the discs but didn't take the time to see how they're fitted.

if you done the drop links yourself, you wont get any suprises with discs, just make sure you have some wd-40 or equivalent just incase you get any stubborn bolts lol
