Hi all. I decided to put my treasured Marea (June 1999 100,000 miles and going strong) through a different car wash last week as I was fed up of waiting for warmer weather to arrive before washing it at home. Turned out to be a very expensive one as the ariel had siezed and would not fold down or unscrew. You've guessed it - it ate my ariel. I have sourced a replacement from my local dealer but before ordering I thought I'd have a look first. The interior light assembly came out fine but I was then faced with, what I think is, the sunroof motor. Does anyone know if this is easily removable? Any pointers would be very welcome. Regards BarryK.

Easy peasy :)

Just undo the bolts and pull.
it is that simple.

Don't do what I did and think that electrictiy will help, I ended up having to re-align the sunroof manually. Actually this helped because I had a slight gap before on the sunroof.
If you have and issue with the sunroof alignment use the key inside of the roof light to re-align the sunroof with the markers on the sunroof runners (put the key inside the centre of the motor) and then pull the motor out and use the switch to reset the motor to 'settled' posistion, re-insert the motor and you roof will be aligned by hand :).

back to ariel, just pull the motor and behind it is a bolt which holds the ariel on.
