X250 3.0 here. I have a leak on the driver's side (left hand drive vehicle) at the differential, so the short axle. I managed to get the axle out. As soon as the wishbone/control arm was disconnected the transmission oil started pouring out.
Anyway, I expected that removing the seal was going to be straightforward but it isn't and eLearn didn't tell me a lot either (or I couldn't find it). At this point I'm not sure how to continue or what part to order. I have attached a picture. The seal itself seems to be in good condition.
If I see some pictures of supposed replacement seals online it seems I need to pry out the metal part where my screwdriver can be seen.
Help, as always, much appreciated!

I was a bit quick to give up... A friend told me to continue prying with the screwdriver, half way around the seal it popped out...
Now I know which part to order as well.
