Technical replace 1.3 diesel with 1.4 petrol
They would be mad if they had......huge parts cost, complete strip of car , insurance, road tax legal nightmare.
Engine and gearbox,
I've had every variation of MK2 doblo the petrol is the absolute best engine I get 38 mpg at 65, on my 2011 doblo MPV but I need a petrol long wheel, they are usually 2019 and £8000.+vat
But there are loads of dead ones with the crap diesel engines, so my plan was a swop.

I did not ask for your opinion, I asked for technical advice, read the message before you spout.
What do you have currently ?
If you have a donor van to move everything over from then it’s just a case of time to get the work done. Though it will cause insurance issues, the DVLA are also beginning in the next couple of years to crack down on anything modified so you could end up with a Q plate. If you’re not worried about that stuff then as I said it’s just a case of swapping everything over nothing really technical about it. If you don’t have a donor van however then as pointed out the pasts list is huge and sourcing everything could become a major headache/dent to the wallet.
Basically best way to do it is take a van with the engine you want, something that has failed the MOT due to rust and transfer everything over to a diesel with a failed engine.
I the 1.4 you want to use, is that the 8v or 16v engine?
Loads of cheap puntos for a few hundred quid using that engine so with a bit of research you might find there are parts that could be used from a punto

Then as I said if you have a donor vehicle you’ll want to get a target car and move everything over.Hi Andy, thank you, 16v, I would probably use my 2011 Doblo 1.4, and then sell the rolling shell, the long wheelbase has a much better ride and I will not have another filthy diesel..
The only thing is you will need to move EVERYTHING
The petrol engine car will need to be kept with its gear box, suspension, brakes etc, then the ecu for the engine will need to be kept with the body computer, keys locks and ignition to make sure the immobiliser still works. You’ll probably need to carry over wiring looms as well and then if either car has aircon you’ll need to sort that out too.
It would be basically a re-shell job
