Removing Tar

Hello all,

My local council have been kind enough to resurface my road with a coat of tar and little stones. Now the side of my 500 is covered in specs and streaks to the tar sticking the stones down. I have heard that WD40 is capable of removing this from paintwork but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Petrol or White spirit

Chemical Guys Orange Degreaser has worked for me in the past, diluted at 1:4

neat surfex

Plenty suggestions there... whichever way the car needs a good wash after using a quality proprietry shampoo then a good wax / seal (whichever way round THAT should be done!)
