Removing Sony CDX-C4850R from 99 Sei sporting

Hi Guys,

I want to remove the standard sony head unit that came with my 99 Sei sporting (the Sony CDX-C4850R) and replace it. Trouble is, I dont know how to remove it. The instruction manual refers to a metal key that I have to insert into a slot in the head unit, but looking at it, theres nowhere to put this key in (no slot in the same place the manual says) so I was wondering whether anyone had any experience of taking this head unit out of this car?

Any help would be much appreaciated

if you take the outer facia off then on each side the will be a slot for the keys

well, ive got a sony headunit, which im guessing uses a similar architecture

basically, there is a plastic ring that goes around the outside of the facia to hide the matal cage, which would protrude, this should clip off, showing the holes to put the keys in

you see here what i mean? this outer bit of trim

Thanx guys, Ill try and pull the facia off and have a look.
