My brother asked me to wash and polish his black car..

Unfortunately I have seen it has been absolutely decimated with swirl marks by those guys at the supermarket when he paid them for a wash and polish I don't know what they did but that's how they left it..

The car is really filthy at the minute so that's obviously hiding this damage

I am just concerned that if I clay, polish & wax the car then these marks are going to show?

Is there a way to fill them in or will I have to get the panels machine polished?

I sort of posted this thread by mistake when searching for similar threads :L nonetheless

anyone have any ideas/experiences of this issue?

As a valeter i see this problem to often with supermarket car washers, they dont rinse the car first they use old crap sponges caked in dirt and use blades to dry cars off which all induce more damage than good!

Depending how badly damaged the car is/shade etc i can try and help find good materials.

1.Personally i'd pre wash the car with a snow foam or tfr and jetwash off.
2.Wash it with some good quality car wash autoglym stuff is pretty reasonable and smells alright.
3.Dry it.
4. Clay bar each panel make you use lube spray a little bit on the panel and rub until the clay bar feels stiff to move wipe the panel down with a microfibre see if its smooth and keep doing it over the whole car.
5. Cutting compound - this will remove swirls and minor paint inperfections. You can use G3 which is amazing and an industry standard or use meguairs cutting compound. Apply by hand to a small area and gently go round in circles till it hazes then wipe off with a microfibre. If you have a machine polisher get a waffle pad apply a X amount over the surface and run it on a medium setting on the car till it hazes then wipe off.
6. Good quality Wax - Dodo juice is amazing and will last up to 6 months! they do small sample pots for about £5 and that will do the entire car.

Any other tips dude just give me a shout :)
or check out DW has lots of helpful tips on there.
