As both the remote fobs for my 99 multipla have stopped working, I ordered a new remote set (only fobs and receiver, no solenoids) from eBay instead of paying for new programmed keys or trying to solder on the loose chip in the old keys. I figure if I mount the new remote receiver right where the original one sits, I can save myself a lot of wire feeding. So, does anyone know where this box is loated? And if the solenoids are positive or negative current triggered?

Thanks,

Bendik..

My key fobs stopped too. When I took them apart I found the solder joints had broken away that should have been joining the small push button to the circuit board (you have to flick the board out of the key fob to see this. A quick resolder with a fine-tipped soldering iron brought them both back to life.
So, don't try changing what's in the car - check the soldering in the key fob first! (Hint - if the solder's broken, the red light in the key only gives one very quick flash when you press the button. If the solder's good, the light gives at least two very clear flashes)

One of my fobs stopped working after just 3 weeks of owning a brand new multi! Obviously replaced under warranty (though not before spending 2.5 hours sitting at Mangoletsi waiting for them to realise it was broken).

The main chip had simply fallen off the pcb!
