remote keyfob programming

i have my beloved 98 bravo hgt and 3 keys... 2 blue with remotes and the red key with a 4 digit code writen on it, now both remotes have stopped working on the blue keys.. i've ordered a new 3 button remote fob, how would i go about programming it to lock/unlock my doors..? and would it be possible to just put my transponder into the new fob to start the car..?

also how do i know if the alarms on or off when i have no key for the switch in the fuse box compartment... could i get 1 or could i just join the wires at the back

thats what i was looking through earlier just hope the code writen on my red key is the code im looking for... just gotta figure out if the alarms on or off now

I think you might be able to change the transponder but it depends if it separate from the alarm board inside the key if it not then i would try timpson to get the transponder programmed.
