On the FIAT website i saw the Remote central locking kit.The picture shows 2 remote control fobs and a yellow plug with a radio transmitter type wire attatched. I thought that will be easy to fit so I rang my local dealer for a price. They said it would be £74 so i thought I'd have that and just to reassure myself I asked is it as easy to fit as I thought. The bloke then started to make it sound like a big job saying that it had to be all wired in and that when he does Punto's sometimes it takes ages.I deceided not to buy but on checking the site again I'm sure its a simple plug in socket.Who's right ?

I bought this kit for my Bravo. On the Bravo the installation is quite simple (takes about one minute).

Open the glove compartment.
Remove the plastic cover over the relays.
Remove the central locking relay.
Insert the yellow remote central locking relay in it's place.
Remount the plastic cover over the relays.
Close the glove compartment.
Done…

I don't know there the central locking relay is located on the Punto but it can't bee all that different.
Observe that this relay only locks and unlocks the door. It doesn't have anything to do with car alarms, which I assume was what your local dealer though I was.

Thanks Pepso,
I bought the kit today and fitted it.Unfortunatley it's not quite a one minute job on a new Bravo. The problem is that the flap in the glovebox is now no longer there so the whole glovebox has to be removed (about 8 screws)Still it's done now took me about 15 minutes.
