Guys,

Thinking about buying a remote central locking kit for my 99 Brava. Still weighing up the option of buying one from Fiat (£70 for 2 sensors) and PVSS (£45 for 1 sensor), but I'll be grateful if anyone can advise if the remote unit also unlocks the boot as well as the doors.

Many thanks.
David

I have a 99 HGT, and on the remote locking (Factory remote), it unlocks the boot but you (on mine) use the key to open it, or the handle.

No, it doesn't open the boot. There is no power lock on the boot. It just triggers the central locking, so no flashing indicators either. But still well worth having. I've got the Fiat kit. Its been no trouble and is still onthe same battery 2 years later.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys - that cleans that one up...

Best wishes,
David

Remotes

I was going to post this message but read this one.

I did read that the Fiat system only worked on mk1 Brava's, I have a mk2 2000 W reg. Does the system still work ?

Cheers for any help.

Re: Remotes

I've just fitted a cobra alarm to my year 2,000 Brava which operates the central locking remotely.
The retailer I bought it off also sells a remote central locking system for £49.95 made by cobra.
He has tech sheets for whatever car you want to fit it to, the alarm was reasonably easy to fit so the central locking only should be no problem.

Re: Remotes

Mine's a Mk2 99 T Brava and the Fiat kit fitted easily in about 5 mins.
