Remote Central Lockin

I havent long had my car, my central locking works if i put the key in the door.

i have a 98HLX, should i be able to do this by remote. My key has a little button on top that when i press the red light come on the key.#

i looked through manual and tried the "use ball point pen on roof of car, but no sucesss ?

Key needs resetting

I think you need your key resetting, else the bastards who sold you the car ripped out the auto central locking kit to use on another car, cos the remote keys can be reset to any device, cant remember how to do it, you may need to ring fiat up.
