Technical remold 4x4 tyers

Thanks for your replies. Interesting to hear that two of you had no problems with the MOT. They'd be on a separate set of wheels anyway so I might only be fitting them for the depths of winter - which fingers crossed will come again this year! I think it's probably the sort of thing that wouldn't get spotted by most testers. I'd not come across the 'E' rating before I saw it on the site and had to look it up. As for the insurance, I think it's probably worth the risk.

Remember what you are running on. They are remold tyers drive no faster than 50mph. Think about wet roads most cars need extra space to stop in. The do tend to slip off metal surfaces and the old type metal road markings. But love snow and mud but its not a race to get home but you will be home before many others in the big 4x4's with fat all day running tyers and all that wheight to pull up hill:cry: Panda 4x4's and 2x2's with correct winter tyers have alway got all my family home safe. Ask the Germans why they have standard tyers and a spare set winter tyers for this time of year. Have you seen the ads on tv? buy your winter tyers now. It started last winter with BMW pushing winter car sale cars out on winter tyers:idea:cos they function better in colder weather than standard every day tyers is down to the rubber mix:worship:

I think the issue is that the only seriously chunky off road tyres for 13" wheels seem to be made by remoulders. My 4x4 already has m+s tyres on it (Maloyas - which are made by Vredestein) and I've been very happy with them. After the last couple of years of very heavy snow I fancy trying some of the chunky ones. For an all round winter tyre, i think you are probably right to say that a standard m+s pattern is a better bet if you just going to have one set of wheels.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for Malatesta 185/65/14 tyres for my Panda. Does anyone know any site I can order them for delivery to Greece, without having rob the bank first?

Thanks in advance.

Remoulds? I'd rather walk.

When driving offroad to 40-50 km/h any robust remould is ok.On asphalt roads though they are pain in the ...s literally, and nice earplugs could be in hand also.

My friend uses "pneus ovada" 145-80-13 tyres, italian remoulds avialable in Poland for about 30 GBP each, but he also has "normal" set of wheels for everyday use.

here, pneus ovada: model: super trak

I use 175/65-14 road legal Collin's winter extrema on my trekking. They're in my opinion very good asphalt snow and offroad tyres. They're a copy of some old nokian, I think old hakkapelita tyres.

I can't narrow down my needs to a specific surface, thus I want something like the pattern Bartpanda showed above, or something like the Malatesta or the Fedima.
Unfortunately I can't use 175/65/14. They are 13 mm less in diameter according to this site
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

So I must look for either 185/654/14 (my current dimension), or 175/70/14 which is 4 mm bigger.
The main problem is that I do not know any site that carries them and sends them to Greece!:(
