Just looking for some ideas. My Panda 4x4 carb starts really nicely when it's being used. But if I leave it standing for a few days there is no fuel in the lines and it takes a lot of starter cranking to pump fuel through before it will fire (which the battery doesn't like and usually after to resort to jump leads).
I did have an inline bulb type hand fuel pump (it eventually split) that I could 'prime' carb before starting. That's how I know its starts on the button when there's some fuel. I did think the bulb pump, which is also a one way valve would stop the fuel draining back to the tank, but it didn't help.
So.any ideas what I should be looking at? At the moment i'm thinking either a hole in the return line allowing air in allowing fuel to drain back to the tank or a split/damaged seal in the carb that allows fuel to evaporate out.
Was thinking I could fit a low pressure pump inline to prime, but that seems like curing the symptoms rather than the fault.
