Technical Releasing the stereo

Hi guys,

As the topic name, I'm going to be releasing my stereo as my cable to add the aux connection that jay1464 recommended has arrived today while I was at work!

But could someone provide a guide / picture showing how to release it with the removal tools, as I hear if I do it the wrong way it can snap the release pins?

Good morning google god, haha.

Just a quickie as the video doesn't 100% reassure me..

So: to safely remove the HU without bending pins, do I put them into the stereo:



A) As per the top picture (long edges on the inside)

B) As per the bottom picture (long edges on the outside)

B, the straight edge face the outside. According to that video anyway.

Thanks guys. And the videos great, but it was just the first key that went in, I wasn't sure if they were inserted the same way.

Guys how do you release the keys from the stereo once you've released the stereo? Is there a specific method, as they're in and I don't wanna break anything
