General Registration & MOT

I am putting in an application to the DVLA to register for the first time an imported c1973 500. It requires an MOT to support that application however I cannot take for a test without a document stating the original registration. I know the Italian reg. no & obviously the VIN.
How do I get hold of such a document?

Book it in for an MOT and let the garage sort it out. If they can't do this then they won't charge you, and they will tell you what to do next time.
