Booked my car in for them to have a look at the petrol tank - which had been changed under warranty last year and is now holed.

..They had no record of me being booked in.
..They disputed things they had told me over the phone.
..They refused to even look at the car as the recall work hadn't been carried out by themselves.
..They told me they could not do the work because they didn't change the tank, and the car had to go back to the garage which originally did the work, some 40 miles away.

The absolute minimum I expect from a dealer under these circumstances is to inspect the car (don't forget it was booked in for this purpose) and take the matter up with Fiat UK or the dealer which changed the tank. A service manager with a whisker of intelligence would inspect the car, even if he had no intention of following up on it - but to refuse point blank to look at the car or make any enquiries is absolutely disgusting.

A formal complaint has been made to Fiat UK about the person in question. Fiat assure me that the part is under a 12 month warranty, and a much friendlier dealer have booked me in for an inspection on Friday. The friendlier dealer is shocked at the reception I received at Reg Vardy's, and will follow up any tank claim for me through Fiat.

I will post the name of the friendly dealer when this issue is resolved.

Needless to say, I am currently bloody seething.[:(!]

Been dealing with regvardy now for about 12 months, took my car there because the Fiat dealer I bought it from said there was nothing wrong with it. It juddered when pulling away and changing gear was not smooth.

RV told me the car should not do that so ended up purchasing their warranty and getting the gearbox repaired and clutch replaced.

After getting the gear box done the problem moved to another gear,

been back to them many times and they cant find a fauly to fix it.

any body else with this problem or similar and used RV stockton
